Arctica Islandica is the Latin name of the ocean quahog, which is commonly found on the beaches of Iceland. The round shell, which is up to 13 cm long, is not only noticeable because of its thick casing. It is one of the animal species with the longest lifespan; In 2013 a 507 year old specimen was discovered.
